Character's History: Born into a Fire Nation noble family, Ty Lee was one of seven identical sisters...

1. Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them. How would your character act once someone got to know them? Upon first meeting Ty Lee, someone would perceive her to be a very cheerful, carefree, and bubbly girl who might seem a bit light-headed. She is someone who is very flexible and friendly, willing to talk with just about anyone, and generally smiling with an infectious amount of enthusiasm. As someone got to know them, they would likely see that Ty Lee is someone who cares deeply about being accepted and cares very deeply about those who are close to her, though she is not above manipulating those who might have a shallow interest in her, such as for her looks. They would see that while she does crave attention and the desire to be noticed as an individual, too much direct attention can cause her panic and find a way out of the situation.

2. What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd? Ty Lee is but one out of seven children, having six sisters, all of whom were all identical. As a result, and tired of feeling like she was simply a part of a matched set, Ty Lee left home and joined a circus after attending the Royal Fire Academy for Girls.

3. What does your character think their flaws are? What do they think their strengths are? What are their actual flaws and strengths? Ty Lee perceives her biggest flaw to be the resemblance that she bears with her sisters, that she might not be unique or her individuality. She takes pride in insults such as being called a circus freak and striving to stand out from others in the way she looks, acts, and even moves. Though she sees her beauty and agility as her greatest contribution to the world and strength.

For others, though, her compassion and kind heart are her greatest strength and asset, or greatest weakness and flaw in Azula's opinion. Her most notable flaws are that she can act a bit clueless and tends to lead guys on at times, basking in attention and admiration from potential suitors.

4. What is a common misconception other characters have about your character? Most people who assume that Ty Lee is an individual that doesn't really think too much about things, or that would get caught up in petty matters. However, she can at times be very superficial and jealous, as seen when Ty Lee, Azula, and Mai went against the Kioshi warriors. Ty Lee felt the need to comment that they were not as pretty as her group was. Also, while many would believe for Ty Lee to be the kind of person to simply give in and avoid conflict, when it comes to it, she is willing to stand against even those she cares about to stand by what she feels is right.

Character Abilities:
Agility: Ty Lee was extraordinarily agile. She is limber, able to twist, bend, and contort herself into positions nearly impossible for an ordinary person to achieve. Has almost perfect balance and moves fluidly and gracefully with ease.

Chi Blocking: Using a pressure-point-striking martial arts, Ty Lee can block the nerves and Chi to various parts of people's bodies. She can paralyze a single body part or an opponent's entire body by striking several different points. This technique allows her to block certain bender chi paths to compromise their abilities as well.
